Paul is a productive songwriter and is currently working on a modern Motown project that will combine his Jazzpop and solo work that he has so much experience in.
On The Shakedown's album 'Terracotta' Paul recorded his first original tracks called 'Perfect For Me' and 'That Sorry Day In Lichfield By The Green'
That Sorry Day (In Lichfield By The Green) was written about a girl Paul once knew who he fell for. They met in Lichfield in the Midlands one day and went for a drink. The reason why this was such a sorry day will die with Paul! (unless you ask him directly what that song is about).
Perfect For Me was written by Paul in St Paul's Cathedral gardens in London. He watched the various pretty girls walk by on a summers day and romanticised about the girl who was right for him that he hoped to eventually meet. The irony of the song is that he knows this person in his head doesn't actually exist and he must realise compromise and imperfections before he can find anyone!
